Manage your time
Studying starts with day 1 of classes
Coming to class prepared, with a good nights sleep and arriving on time will give you a head start. Going over your notes and class work the same day, on your way home, before bed will give you a head start to studying and being prepared for your tests.
Make a Study Plan
By creating a study plan and scheduling your studying times you can prepare yourself well ahead of time and avoid last minute cramming. Make a plan that is easy to follow. A few minutes every day may be easier then trying to squeeze in hours closer to the test.
Snack on Brain Food
Recommend Brain Food
Your brain needs fuel to stay focused and remember what you are listening to, reading or studying. Some good foods to snack on are:
- Dark chocolate
Make sure to eat a diet full of omega-3, some of our example include:
- Tuna fish sandwich on whole grain
And don’t forget to drink plenty of water! Bring a bottle of water to your exam with some snack foods.
Organize Study groups
Meet with your classmates even for 15 minutes before or after class and go over some of the class work from the week.
Try and meet before tests and exams and ask each other study questions.
Manage your Stress
By following the above tips and doing a little everyday you will feel more prepared and ready for exam day. If you feel like it is overwhelming make sure to talk to a counsellor ahead of time so that you can come up with a study plan together.
